About Gladrags

Gladrags Costumes is a Brighton-based charity that uses costumes and clothing to support creativity, wellbeing and community connection. Our vision is to provide the widest access to quality, repurposed costumes in an inherently sustainable way. Through affordable costume hire, educational resources, and community outreach, we champion the arts, education, wellbeing, and inclusion across our community and the wider arts sector.

Why vintage sales matter

Selling vintage clothing helps fund Gladrags’ outreach work. Established since 1994, 95% of our collection continues to be made up of quality donated, recycled and repurposed garments and artefacts. Every purchase you make supports subsidised costume hire for community groups and creatives, enabling transformative experiences through dress-up, learning and participation. It also allows us to continue repairing, repurposing, and rehoming pre-loved garments, reducing textile waste while offering the widest access with the lowest possible environmental impact.
